The Claude skills marketplace
Two things go by this name: libraries where you find skills, like this one, and Claude Code plugin marketplaces that install a whole suite of skills with one command. Here are both: 29 marketplaces with 185 plugins, and 861 skills you can install one at a time.
How plugin marketplaces work
A marketplace is a GitHub repo with a .claude-plugin/marketplace.json file that lists one or more plugins. A plugin can bundle skills, subagents, slash commands, hooks and MCP servers, so bigger suites ship this way instead of as loose skill folders.
- Add the marketplace once, inside Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add owner/repo - Install a plugin from it:
/plugin install plugin-name@marketplace-name, or run/pluginto browse. - Start a new session if the plugin's skills don't appear straight away.

Claude skills marketplaces, explained
What is the Claude skills marketplace?
There isn't one single store. Skills are published as open-source folders on GitHub, and Claude Code can install them from any repo that ships a plugin marketplace file. Libraries like StealIt collect the best of them in one place, with rankings by use case.
How is StealIt different from skills.sh?
skills.sh is the directory behind Vercel's open-source npx skills CLI and covers skills for many coding agents. StealIt is a smaller, hand-picked library focused on Claude, with use-case rankings, plugin install commands and a check for scripts on every skill. Both install through the same CLI, so a command from either site works.
Should I install a plugin or a single skill?
Install a single skill when you want one capability. Install the plugin when a suite's skills share scripts or agents, such as Claude SEO or claude-mem; their skill pages on StealIt default to the plugin commands for that reason.
Are plugins from these marketplaces safe?
Plugins can include hooks and scripts that run on your computer, so add marketplaces only from publishers you trust and read what a plugin includes before installing it. Every repo here links to its source. The install guide has more on staying safe.
