Ponytail Review

ponytail-review

Quality review of a change: is the logic right, is it safe, does it hold under real load, is risky code tested, is it fast enough, and is every line needed. Reads the connected code, not only the diff. Each finding is explained in plain English. Use for "review this", "code review", "review the last commit", "review my PR", "is this over-engineered", /ponytail-review.

Install

Run this in your project folder. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and dozens of other agents.

$ npx skills add DietrichGebert/ponytail --skill ponytail-review

Needs Node.js. Add -g to install for every project, or -a claude-code to skip the agent picker.

How to use Ponytail Review

Once it's installed, Claude reads this skill on its own whenever a request matches what it's for, so you don't have to mention it by name. In Claude Code you can also run it directly by typing /ponytail-review.

It contains no scripts, only instructions and reference files, so it can't run code on its own.

What the instructions cover

  1. 11. Understand first
  2. 22. Look for
  3. 33. Check before you report
  4. 44. Output

Section headings from the skill's SKILL.md file.
