StealIt

Scans the codebase to generate project-doc.md and AGENTS.md. Use when bootstrapping a new agent-driven repo, refreshing project documentation after architectural changes, or running a delta scan to detect drift. Runs a full scan on first use and a smart delta scan on subsequent runs. Uses understand-anything + context-mode when available, falls back to native tools otherwise. Only updates AGENTS.md on detected architectural changes with human confirmation.

Install

Run this in your project folder. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and dozens of other agents.

$ npx skills add wshobson/agents --skill scan

Needs Node.js. Add -g to install for every project, or -a claude-code to skip the agent picker.

How to use Scan

Once it's installed, Claude reads this skill on its own whenever a request matches what it's for, so you don't have to mention it by name. In Claude Code you can also run it directly by typing /scan.

It contains no scripts, only instructions and reference files, so it can't run code on its own.

What the instructions cover

  1. 1Step 1: Check Optional Plugin Dependencies
  2. 2Step 2: Determine Scan Mode
  3. 3Step 3A: Full Scan
  4. 4Step 3B: Delta Scan
  5. 5Step 4A: Generate AGENTS.md (First Run Only)
  6. 6Step 4B: Architectural Change Detection (Delta Runs Only)
  7. 7Step 5: Report
