Site Architecture

site-architecture

When the user wants to plan, map, or restructure their website's page hierarchy, navigation, URL structure, or internal linking. Also use when the user mentions "sitemap," "site map," "visual sitemap," "site structure," "page hierarchy," "information architecture," "IA," "navigation design," "URL structure," "breadcrumbs," "internal linking strategy," "website planning," "what pages do I need," "how should I organize my site," "site navigation," "which website builder should I use," "migrate my website," or "add a blog to my existing site." Use this whenever someone is planning what pages a website should have, how they connect, and where to build them. NOT for XML sitemaps (that's technical SEO — see seo-audit). For SEO audits, see seo-audit. For structured data, see schema.

Install

Run this in your project folder. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and dozens of other agents.

$ npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills --skill site-architecture

Needs Node.js. Add -g to install for every project, or -a claude-code to skip the agent picker.

How to use Site Architecture

Once it's installed, Claude reads this skill on its own whenever a request matches what it's for, so you don't have to mention it by name. In Claude Code you can also run it directly by typing /site-architecture.

It contains no scripts, only instructions and reference files, so it can't run code on its own.

What the instructions cover

  1. 1Before Planning
  2. 2Site Types and Starting Points
  3. 3Page Hierarchy Design
  4. 4Navigation Design
  5. 5URL Structure
  6. 6Visual Sitemap Output (Mermaid)
  7. 7Internal Linking Strategy
  8. 8Output Format
  9. 9Task-Specific Questions
  10. 10Related Skills
